INTRODUCING YOURSELF
IN SPANISH IN 6 EASY STEPS
Now that we have learnt the basics in our previous posts, it
is time to learn to structure your communication, so learning to introduce
yourself is a good start. But how do I do that? You may ask yourself. Well it
takes only six steps and a few key words that you will need to memorize and you
will be able to communicate something very, very important: who you are.
1 STEP: To greet the person you are talking to.
We already know the greetings in Spanish. If you need to
remember them, you can watch the following video.
HOLA/BUENOS DIAS/BUENAS TARDES/ BUENAS NOCHES
2 STEP: To say your name.
To say your name there are two structures you can use. The first
one is : SOY
SOY means I AM . SOY is the first conjugation for the verb
SER
The second structure is: ME LLAMO
ME LLAMO means MY NAME IS. ME LLAMO is the first conjugation
for the verb llamarse.
So: Soy Adriana or Me llamo Adriana
3 STEP: to say where you are from.
We already know what word to use for I AM, so let’s use it
to say our nationality.
I AM
ECUADORIAN/AMERICAN/INDIAN/FRENCH/GERMAN/ITALIAN/CHINESE
SOY ecuatoriano(a)/Americano(a)/Hindu/frances(a)/aleman(a)/italiano(a)/chino(a)
4 STEP: to say your age.
To say your age, you will need the word: TENGO
TENGO means I HAVE. TENGO is the first conjugation for the
verb TENER
So: Tengo 26 años (anos means years old)= I am 26 years old
In Spanish we use the verb To Have = TENER to express the
age
5 STEP: To say where u live
To say where u live you use the verb : VIVIR
VIVO= I LIVE. VIVO is the first conjugation of the verb
vivir
So: Vivo en Guayaquil
En: Means IN. You use EN for expressions with in
6 STEP: THE PHRASE IT’S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU
ES UN GUSTO CONOCER TE
You use TE at the end of the word conocer… when you have
only one person in front of you.
You use LOS at the end of the word conocer… when you have
more than one person in front of you.
NOW:
HOLA ! BUENAS TARDES. ME LLAMO ADRIANA BERNAL. TENGO 26
AñOS, SOY ECUATORIANA Y VIVO EN GUAYAQUIL.
ES UN GUSTO CONOCERLOS!
